Omelette Curry / Muttai Poricha Kuzhambu

This dish is one of my favorite, my amma makes this kuzhambu all weekends, the coconut curry and the egg goes well so it makes the curry yummy. Whenever i cook this curry, i feel like i am with my mom. My mom used to tell she learned this from my grandma, my granny is from srilanka so hope this curry came from there and migrated to our foods :) try it and enjoy cooking :)

Serves:3



Ingredients:

Egg - 5
Coconut Grated - 1/2 cup
Cut Onions - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 1 no
Garlic Cloves - 4 nos
Chili powder - 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder-1 tsp
Salt

For Seasoning:
Oil - 4 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - 3- 4 nos
Asafoetida
Curry leaves





Method:

Step 1: In a deep bowl break all the eggs beat them well for 2 minutes, In a deep cooking pot grease with oil pour the beaten egg close the lid, Flip the sides once it is done transfer to a plate and cut the omelette into small square shape pieces or however you want, keep it aside.



Note : while flipping the omelette it may get broken don't worry about it. Just flip it :)











Step 2: In mixer add the grated coconut, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder grind well keep it aside. In a pan add oil, fennel seeds, cloves, curry leaves and asafoetida allow it to splutter.


 

Step 3: Add the onions and garlic saute till the raw smell goes then add the tomatoes saute well.


 

Step 4: Add the coconut paste grind, salt and needed water allow it cook for 10 mins, drop the cut omelette pieces in the curry allow it to boil for 5- 10 mins.


 

This curry goes well with plain rice, idly and dosa.
