Mushroom Rice

Mushroom Rice : (காளான் சாதம்)

About:

Mushrooms are low-calorie food and rich in minerals , when you are bored of the usual rice varieties u can try it out :) it is an easy recipe for lunch box .




Preparation Time :10 mins
Cooking Time:15 mins
Serves:2

Ingredients:

Boiled Rice - 2 Cup
Cut Onion   - 1/2 cup
Tomato      - 1 no
Green chilli - 3 nos
Ginger Garlic Crushed -2 Tsp
Cut Mushrooms
Peas
Chili Powder
Coriander Powder
Turmeric Powder
Garam Masala (optional)
Asafoetidia
finely cut coriander leaves (to garnish)

For Seasoning:

oil
Fennel Seeds -1/4 tsp
Cinnamon -1 inch
Cloves - 4 nos
Cardamom - 2 nos
Dried Aniseed - 1 nos (optional)

Method:

Step 1:In pan add for seasoning items allow it to splutter,then add cut onion,green chilli and crushed ginger & garlic cook till the ingredients become soft.
Tip:you can use ginger garlic paste but crushed ginger,garlic gives good taste and aroma.



Step 2:Then add tomato,cut mushrooms & peas mix well,mushroom expels water so close the pan till the mushroom cooks well.
Tip:When we get the smell of mushroom it is cooked.



Step 3:Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala and salt ,close the pan till the raw smell goes ,switch off the stove allow the masala to cool down.



Step 4:With the masala add the boiled rice mix well at medium flame check for salt sprinkle coriander leaves close the pan for 10-15 mins.


 


Serve hot with frymes or omelette :)
