Stuffed Spinach Chapati

Hi, I am back again with a different spinach recipe. You need to try this one at your leisure time because it needs time to prepare, but a very tasty recipe and will be liked by all your family members. Especially for the kids who don't eat veggie's, they will love this chapati. This one would be great to have for breakfast or dinner.

Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves : 3

Ingredients:

For Chapati:


Wheat Flour - 3 cup
Baby Spinach -  2 handful
Butter - 1 tsp
Salt 
Water

For Stuffing :


Cut Cabbage - 1 Cup
Cut Onion - 1/2 Cup
Cut Carrot - 1/2 Cup
Potato Medium Size - 2
Turmeric Powder 
Chili Powder
Coriander Powder
Salt
Oil

Method :

Step 1: Wash the spinach well , In a deep cooking pot add water and allow it to boil. Add the washed spinach to it, allow the spinach to cook well. Don't over cook the spinach. Drain the water and allow the spinach to cool down, then grind the spinach and keep it aside.

Tip: Save the drained water from spinach. That can be used while mixing the wheat flour for chapati or in other cooking .

 

Step 2: In a vessel add the wheat flour, salt, butter and mix well, then add the grind spinach mix well with needed water to make the dough soft and non sticky. Keep it aside.

Note: Since the Spinach has water in it add water carefully.

 

Step 3: Pressure cook the potatoes with salt, then peel and mash the potatoes. Cut the cabbage, onion, carrot and keep it aside. In pan add oil, cabbage, carrot saute well.

Step 4: Add the mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, salt mix well till the raw smell goes. Make the dough into small balls and equally make small balls with the stuffing masala. In a floured flat surface place the dough ball and make it flat with rolling pin.

Step 5: Place the stuffing on the flat dough. Seal all the corners in center and cut the top of the sealing, roll the dough into a ball shape again with the help of the rolling pin make the dough with stuffing flat don't press hard the stuffing will come out. If the dough is sticky use some dry flour .

 

Step 6:Place the Tava in stove and put the pressed dough with stuffing on the tava. If you feel the dough is thick, using your palm press the sides and middle of the dough on tava. Again Don't press hard. flip both the sides till you see the brown spots. When the sides become crispy add oil at the sides.

 


Serve hot with curd mixed with jeera powder and coriander leaves.
