Urad Dal Chutney

About:

Idly or dosa you need a chutney as side dish. So here is an lip smacking variety of chutney with urad dal. When you don't have any ingredients to do coconut or onion chutney this will be the best option with available ingredients, and you can use this while travelling also.



Preparation Time: 5 - 10 mins
Cooking Time: 5 mins
Serves: 2


Ingredients:

Urad Dal - 1 Cup
Dry Red Chili - 4-5 nos
Tamarind - 1 Small Lemon Size
Asafoetida
Oil
Salt


For Seasoning:

Oil
Dry Red Chili - 1 -2 nos
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 1 Handful
Jeera Seeds - 1/2 Tsp


Method:

Step 1: In pan add oil, urad dal, dry red chili, tamarind, asafoetida and saute till the urad dal becomes brown. Allow the contents to cool down.


 

Step 2 : Grind the contents with needed water, add salt to it , Now in pan add oil,mustard seeds,dry red chili,curry leaves,jeera seeds and allow it to splutter, pour on the grind content mix well.

 

Serve with idly,dosa.
