Chicken Pepper Curry

About :

Hello... I always like to cook chicken curry, so today I came up with a tasty pepper curry. This dish is commonly done in the functions at south parts of Tamil Nadu. Black pepper naturally helps in digestion, relieve cold & cough, fights cancer, improves dental health so you can call this as a tasty and healthy recipe :) Try it, Happy Cooking ....

Serves : 4


Ingredients:

Chicken - 500 grams / 1 lb
Cut Onion - 1 1/2 cup
Cut Tomato - 1 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Coconut Milk - 1 Cup (optional)
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Oil

To Dry Roast & Grind:

Whole black pepper - 4 - 6 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - 6 - 7 nos
Cinnamon 1 inch - 2 nos
Dry red chili - 2 - 3 nos

For Seasoning:

Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 2 -4 nos
Curry Leaves - one hand ful


Method :

Step 1: In pan dry roast the contains given in to dry roast & grind and allow it to cool down, grind in mixer as powder. Wash the chicken well add turmeric powder mix and keep it aside. Cut onion, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and keep it ready.


 

Step 2:  In pan add oil with the for seasoning contents mentioned above. Allow it to splutter, add the cut onions saute well till the raw smell goes off, then add the ginger garlic paste.


 

Step 3: Now add the tomatoes, chicken, dry roast & grind powder with salt and mix well. Close the lid and allow it to boil for 10 - 15 mins. If you are cooking in pressure cooker wait for one whistle and switch off the stove.


 

Step 4: If you want more gravy you can add one cup coconut milk and allow it to cook for another 5 - 10 mins.













Serve with rice, chappathi, briyani .
