Rava Vermicelli Kichadi

Bored of idly, dosa .. you forgot kichadi ??? Let's do rava vermicelli kichadi :) tried little different by adding spices so it gives nice aroma and taste.



Preparation Time :10 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Serves : 2



Ingredients:

Rava / Sooji - 1/2 cup
Semiya / Vermicelli - 1/2 cup
Cut Onions - 1/2 cup
Cut Tomato - 1/2 cup
Chopped Garlic - 4 tsp
Chopped Green Chili - 3-4 nos
Chopped Carrot & Peas - 1 cup
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cloves - 5 nos
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Curry Leaves - 1 handful
Asafoetida
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Sesame Oil / any oil of your choice


Method:

Step 1: In pan add the rava and vermicelli and dry roast it, allow it to cool down. Chop the veggies, onion, tomato keep it aside.


 

Step 2: In pan add oil, fennel seeds, cloves, cinnamon, asafoetida, curry leaves allow it to splutter. Now add the onion, garlic, green chili, carrot and peas. Saute well.


 

Step 3: Now add the tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt, saute well. Add 3 cups of water and allow it to boil. Add the dry roasted rava and vermicelli, stir well till the water is absorbed. Add a tsp of sesame oil on top and stir it.


 

Serve hot with coconut chutney.
